Packing of Graphite Electrodes
The main functions of package, is protecting electrodes from damage.
The packaging of the graphite electrodes, some will be separated electrodes and nipples, put them in different wooden cases; while the others may connect nipple in one end of the electrode, then delivered them to customers.
You can see some graphite electrodes wrapped in straws, or in the wooden boards. These are called: har-band package and wooden case package, can well protect electrodes from damage during storage and delivery, especially the integrity of thread part and end face.

The Delivery and Storage of Graphite Electrodes
After the graphite electrode is tested and packaged, it can be stored or delivery to customers who use graphite electrodes. It is also necessary to protect the integrity of the graphite electrode nipple and the screw thread during storage and shipping of the graphite electrode without being damaged.
1. During hoisting or moving the electrode, be carful to prevent the tilting of electrodes, which may cause graphite electrodes sliding or dropping.
2. To ensure the good condition of end face and electrode thread, please don’t use iron hook to hoist electrode by hooking electrode holes at two ends.
3. When unloading nipples wooden cases, handle them carefully to avoid the collision of nipples and the damage of threads.
4. Please don’t pile the electrodes and nipples directly on ground, put them on wooden pallet or iron rackets, so electrodes won’t collide with each other or adhere clay. For electrodes and nipples won’t be used soon, don’t remove the package, so dusts and other impurities won’t fall on threads or electrode holes.
5. Electrodes should be orderly piled in warehouse during storage, two sides of electrodes stack should be fixed by pads to avoid sliding. The height of the pile should not exceed 2 m.
6. During storage, keep the electrodes from rain and moisture. If the electrodes are damped, dry them first before using, or there may have cracking or addition of oxidization during steelmaking.
7. During the storage of nipples, keep them from high temperature, as high temperature may cause the melting of nipple pin.
